- Identity & Contact Information: full name, email address, phone number, address
- Account & Profile Information: username and account details, business name and ABN (if applicable), profile content, listings, and reviews
- Transaction Information: booking and rental history, payment amounts and transaction records
- Identity Verification (if used): government-issued ID (e.g. driver's licence), photos taken during handover (if voluntarily provided by users)
- Technical Data: IP address, browser type and device information, usage data and interaction with the platform
We collect information when you: create an account, list or rent an item, complete a transaction, contact us via email or forms, interact with the platform, ads, or emails. We may also collect limited data automatically through cookies and analytics tools.
We use your information to: operate and improve the CIOS platform, facilitate rentals between users, process payments and payouts, verify identity and reduce fraud, communicate with you about bookings updates or support, personalise your experience, comply with legal obligations.
All payments are processed securely via Stripe or authorised third-party providers. CIOS does not store full payment card details. Payment providers may collect and process your data in accordance with their own privacy policies.
We may share your information with: payment processors and financial service providers, identity verification providers, cloud hosting and IT service providers, analytics and marketing tools, legal or regulatory authorities where required. We only share what is necessary and take reasonable steps to ensure third parties handle your data appropriately.
As a marketplace, certain information may be shared between users to facilitate rentals. This may include: name, contact details (where required), booking information. Users are responsible for how they handle information received from other users.
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including: secure servers and encrypted connections, restricted access to sensitive data, ongoing monitoring and system updates. However, no system is completely secure, and use of the platform is at your own risk.
